Three Kisses was my first contemporary for Avon Books and concerned the stories of three women, each struggling with her past. Readers write that they would have liked individual stories and I would have, too.
Sleepless in Montana came about when I wanted to write a story set in that state. The conversation with my editor went like this: "If I write a book set in Montana, can we use Montana in the title?" My editor liked the idea and I wrote the book. I've written several Montana-set books and have visited and researched the state often.
Leaving Lonely Town and It Happened at Midnight are "Langtry family" books. I've often been asked to write more of them. Though contemporary books, the Langtrys are decendants of a Civil War refugee who escapes to the West and finds his love, a Native American princess. I've never read stories like these, where journals from the past are cross-referenced in the contemporary story. In separate books, the Southern gentleman's journal matches his Native American wife's.
