Cait’s Note: I am so pleased with the reviews for The Basket Maker’s Wife. Here are some of them:
The Basket Makers Wife is absolutely wonderful! Full of so much joy and love, and a little bit of magic! The characters are unbelievably real and their separate stories touching. Woven together the tapestry they create is colorful and beautiful!
DIFFERENT. EMOTIONAL. Those are at least two of the words that I would use to describe this book. “Intense” at times would probably also be another good way to try to describe it. Some of that intensity comes from the life that Nora has survived since her birth…
This story is a keeper for me and I know I will probably read it again some time in the future.
I will be looking into reading the other books in the Series.
This book is a wonderfully written story about life coming full circle, healing broken hearts and learning to love with all that is in you. Even when you didn’t know it was there.
I loved this book and the characters and storyline came to life off the pages. Sweet, gentle, loving story of people loving on others.
Different is good I have to say this is different from any book I have read for a long time. There was a hint of paranormal with Jessie having “the gift” and telling Nora that she has it, too. I liked the characters, especially Dan, Nora, Jessie and Lynn. There was a lot of sadness in this book, but it was very well-written and the characters were complex with flaws and strengths. Lots of nice descriptions of the town and the baskets that I liked.
I really enjoyed this book. Every time I thought that I had it all figured out, she came up with something that surprised me.
Wonderful story about the bonds shared by women, mother’s love and friendship. A great example of the deep strength in every woman.
This is Book 1 in the series and one of the best stories I have ever read. It made me laugh and made me cry. Can’t tell you when I have enjoyed a story more. I also have purchased Book 2 and it doesn’t disappoint. I understand Book 3 will be released in a couple months and can’t wait.
Whenever I buy book written by Cait I know it will provide a special time of enjoyment. Her stories are filled with the love between men and women. Nora and Daniel’s story is not any different. Every twist and turn of the characters as they find their path to each other is a delight. You’ll never be disappointed by her stories or love.
This book kept me up all night! I love to read about women who defy the odds, we are survivors !
Cait has done it again! She makes it so easy to relate to characters such as Nora! Thank you for the great read! I highly recommend The Basket Maker’s Wife, and look forward to the next book!
Loved the story, the well drawn characters. Looking forward to reading the next one. I highly recommend this read. You will enjoy it too.
Magical, moving and full of surprises. The characters develop in the reader’s mind so by the end you’re part of the extended family. The message of regaining strength and courage after difficult beginnings, and abuse, is very inspiring.
I always enjoy her books & this was no exception. I rarely talk about the synopsis of the book because you get that from the description of the book. What I will say is this was a very interesting concept. I liked the characters so much that I wish I could meet them & could hug the women that had to go through the things they had to go through. I can hardly wait for the next book & the one after that.
Funny, insightful regarding relationships and intelligent about healing abusive histories.
This was a very special lovely book; it had it all love to over come pain magic and pure love. I loved it, couldn’t put it down.
